Sophia Ashebir is a Masters in City Planning student at MIT and research assistant at the AgeLab, as well as a former Technical Associate at the AgeLab. Her interests stem from the intersection of aging and transportation, particularly for older adults in rural communities who can no longer drive.

At the AgeLab, Sophia has been involved in projects related to caregiving, vaccines and preventive health, and long term care. She also co-coordinates the 85+ Lifestyle Leaders Panel and the Lab’s Aging and Equity Speaker Series, as well as runs the Instagram (follow us @mitagelab)!

Sophia earned her BA degree from Wellesley College, where she studied Economics and Comparative Race and Ethnicity.
